Meet the Pioneers
Do you believe in ghosts? Spirits of Rogue Valley pioneers will greet visitors to Jacksonville’s Historic Cemetery on Saturday, October 11th, Saturday, October 18th, and Sunday, October 19th when the Jacksonville Boosters Club offers guided cemetery tours with performers interpreting historic residents. Learn firsthand about gold mining, wagon trains, Civil War, Indian attacks, homesteading, epidemics, and pioneer life. Tours leave from the West D Street parking lot in Jacksonville every 15 minutes from 4:30 p.m. through 7:30 p.m. on both Saturdays, and every 20 minutes from 2 through 5 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under, and $25 for a family group of up to 2 adults and up to 3 children. All proceeds benefit community programs and projects.
