By Brandi Smith
November 13, 2008

EUGENE, Ore. -- You might think most foster parents are older -- maybe grandparents taking in children -- but Joshua and Melissa Scoglio are young parents hoping to change the life of one child at a time through foster parenting. The 25-year-old couple knows firsthand the difference foster parents can have on the lives of foster children. Melissa's family adopted three kids from foster care.

To become a foster parent in Lane County, you need to attend a foster parent orientation meeting. The next one is Saturday, Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. The classes are held in the DHS/Child Welfare office at 18th & Willamette in Eugene.
