Three Surgeries Performed at Sacred Heart's Riverbend Center

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- The new Sacred Heart Mecical Center at Riverbend opens on Sunday, but doctors performed the first three surgeries Wednesday. The historic surgeries took place in the state-of-the-art operating room equipped with a camera system that allow observers to watch from other locations. Meanwhile, hospital officials prepare for the emergency room to become fully operational when the new facility opens on August 10.
