Krystal has beautiful wavy brown hair, brown eyes and a sweet smile with dimples. She is an exuberant, outgoing and social girl. She adores being the center of attention, enjoying such activities as theater and dance. Krystal has very strong singing abilities and loves to showcase this talent for others and she expecially enjoys Karaoke. Krystal likes bowling, swimming, drawing, reading and writing poetry. In school, Krystal, does well academically with wide ranging interests. She participates in the chess club, singing in the choir, yearbook staff and the knitting circle. She has set some goals for herself when she finds her new “forever” family – she wants to learn to play the piano and also go to college some day. She’s taking the initiative by searching out scholarships she might qualify for already. Krystal came into foster care in September of 2004 with her older brother and younger sister. To meet each child’s individual needs, the decision was made to place the children separately. Each child’s adoptive family must be willing to help the children maintain contact with each other as they are growing up.Like many other older siblings, Krystal felt responsible for her younger sister and would try to protect her as well as direct her behavior in a parental manner. Krystal likes to think of herself as a teenager and needs continued guidance around acting her age. Keeping Krystal involved in physical activities and interacting with same age children will help her with this. Participating in therapy has helped Krystal to strengthen her boundaries and develop better personal safety skills. She does, though, continue to need a family that will continue to support and encourage her regarding these issues.Krystal would like two parents with not too many siblings. She is aware that this might not happen and mostly just wants a forever family. She does need a family that will support a relationship with her siblings in the Portland area.
