Rain Showers Continue for Half of the Weekend

Melissa's Forecast Discussion

Thursday brought winds of over 80 mph to the Coast and heavy rain to western Oregon.  By Friday evening the valley picked up over half of an inch of rain.  The winds have died down for the most part, but the hazardous seas and rain showers will continue Saturday.

This is all coming from the same storm for the most part.  An area of low pressure that is sitting in the Gulf of Alaska moved through a cold front on Thursday.  Post frontal showers have moved in with an unstable air mass in place.  I do expect most of the showers to be wrapped up by late Saturday.

We'll see a break from the rain Sunday, before another front moves through late Monday, that will keep showers around for the first part of the week.

Have a great weekend,

Meteorologist, Melissa Frey
