A Brief Break from the Rain

Melissa's Forecast Discussion

A cold front plowed through western Oregon Friday, bringing heavy rain and chilly air to the region.  Highs in the valley only made it up into the low 40s, and into the mid 40s along the coast.  Eugene picked up 0.67" of rain, Florence had 1.64"!  That front has now moved on to the East and we're going to see a break from the rain...but not for long!

The next front is lined up for Saturday afternoon.  We'll see a break from the rain for the morning, but by afternoon, that rain will be here once again.  Rain showers will continue into Sunday.

By Monday a real break comes.  The jet stream is going to move to the North, and this will keep the southern half of the valley and the southern coast dry Monday - Wednesday.  Just in time for Thanksgiving we'll see that rain return.

Have a great weekend,

Meteorologist, Melissa Frey
