    Cottage Grove H.S. Vandalized Over Night

    Early Friday morning a golf cart was stolen from the Hidden Valley Golf Course and used to vandalize Cottage Grove High School. The communications director for the South Lane School District, Garrett Bridgens, said at about 4 a.m. Friday an alarm notified the school district of a break in.

    One lane of West Eighth Avenue between Washington and Jefferson street is shut down in Eugene because of police activity. Eugene police are serving a search warrant at a home. They say a man was taken to the hospital after he was injured by a homemade explosive.

    A Springfield officer shot a woman just outside Albany after she led police on an early morning chase. The woman, from Springfield, is in the hospital listed in critical condition. It all started in Springfield when police officers spotted a stolen SUV.

    Motorists have something to celebrate this Labor Day weekend. Gasoline prices will be at their lowest levels since 2010. Regular gas will average $3.41 a gallon--that's 18 cents less than last year and 42 cents lower than in 2012 Labor Day weekend.
