    Couple Dies in Crash in Sutherlin

    Oregon State Police released the names of a Sutherlin couple killed in a crash Monday afternoon. Troopers say Todd Gilman was behind the wheel with his wife, Tina, when for an unknown reason he veered eastbound on Nonpareil Road into the westbound lane and hit a fully loaded log truck.

    The Eugene City Council will not pursue a marijuana sales tax as part of Measure 91. The council struck down a motion to pursue the issue further at Monday night's public hearing. It didn't take long to strike down the motion on a marijuana tax.

    The first wave of people who had contact with Texas Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan are out of isolation and symptom-free. The group reached the 21-day incubation period at midnight. Texas officials announced 43 people can resume normal life. Another five will be cleared soon.
