    Driver Dies In HWY 99 Crash

    Troopers say around 2:45 p.m., a 2000 Nissan Frontier pickup with two occupants was southbound on Highway 99E when the driver pulled over and stopped due to a problem with the pickup. The 63-year old male driver was outside the pickup when a 1996 Honda Accord struck the back end.

    Oregon State Police says a reported bear attack in Central Point is unsubstantiated, after its initial report and investigation. After following up with the man and searching his property, there was not enough conclusive evidence to back up the claims.
