French Cuisine Makes it to Crescent Village

By Gia Vang

Eugene, Ore. -- A French restuarant that's made a name for itself near downtown Eugene is moving to a new location in Crescent Village.

Ratatouille's owners are sprucing up the corner spot for its opening on September 1st.  The move is also ushering in a change in menu.  The all-vegetarian menu, will now include meat dishes too.  The restaurant is moving after being on Willamette for three years.  The owners say some business went away when the hospital down the street left.

"There are some activities here that we don't have downtown where I am now.  Like movies and car shows and things like that that is very, very interesting," said Owner and Head Chef Eric Bertrand.

Crescent Village has had its share of rotating tenants.  This space's former tenant, Cornerstone Cafe, closed it's doors a few months ago.  Signs read "Closed Until Further Notice."
