    Deputies say Doris Jennings and another man were trying to remove an oak tree near Lebanon. They were using a chain to pull out the tree when the tractor's tires started to spin and it flipped.

    Wind gusts as fast as 52 miles-an-hour blew through stormy Newport Wednesday morning, clearing the beaches and filling the bay with returning boats. Boats are tied up along the docks throughout coastal cities, while fishermen wait for the storm to pass before they can go back out to sea.

    New research is giving a detailed look at abusive behavior on the Web. Seventy-three percent of adult Internet users have witnessed someone be harassed online, and 40 percent have personally experienced it.

    Social Security checks will go up by 1.7 percent next year. That equals about $22 more each month, according to the Social Security Administration. In 2015, the average retired worker will receive $15,936 a year.
