EUGENE, Ore. -- They are often considered experts when it comes to juggling a thousand things at once, and Wednesday night is no different.
Some University of Oregon students said they're just going to have to power through all the St. Patrick's Day distractions as many are studying for finals.
"The econ one's going to be kind of hard. Because it's an online class, and I kind of have to teach myself. So I got a lot of studying to do tonight, but it's going to be OK," UO student Sarah Rosencrans said.
Students said the combination of St. Patrick's Day and those already done with finals, makes for an easy celebration. Flyers plastered around the school, and some reading free beer tasting. Nearby bars are already appealing to those crowds, and it makes it harder for students studying to get distracted.
"They're enticing and I'd like to party, but I cannot," UO student Aaron Sataloff said.
Another student, Lydia Waik said, "I live only a couple of blocks away and the walls are really thin and you can just hear everything."
Meantime Captain Rich Stronach of the Eugene Police Department said are hoping nothing happens and are encouraged especially since it's a weeknight.
"Just as there are a lot of people celebrating the end of finals, there are still a lot of people taking finals, so it kind of tempers itself out," Stronach said. But he said it doesn't mean they aren't treating it like another busy weekend.
We also spoke to Oregon State Police who said they, too, will be out in full force. The remind folks who are going out to plan a safe way home before the festivities begin.
