EUGENE, Ore. -- Hundreds of people turned out for this year's MLK march, hosted by Eugene's NAACP chapter.
Marchers met at the Moshofsky Center Monday morning, marched down MLK Jr. Boulevard, and over the bridge to the Hult Center, where the keynote program was held. Guest speakers spoke of King's Legacy.
"I believe whole heartedly that the memory of Dr. King should invoke us to be better as people, no matter where we are in life." said Rev. Carl Stubbs, Powerhouse Worship Co-Pastor.
"I want to encourage you today, dare to dream your dream, dare to dream your dream. Dream big dreams," said Sandra Stubbs, Powerhouse Worship Co-Pastor.
This year's march theme was "Stand Up and Be Heard." Proceeds from the group's shirt sales go to the NAACP scholarship fund.
