EUGENE, Ore. -- A development project in North Eugene is adding one more accomplishment to its list of green building practices.
Crescent Village's Inkwell building received two Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certifications. The multi-tenant office building achieved Gold LEED certification for the building's core and exterior. The Arlie and Company headquarters, located on the top floor, received Platinum LEED certification.
"The Inkwell Building is the first building to achieve platinum LEED certification in Oregon outside of Portland, and we are the first multi-tenant office building to achieve LEED certification," says Sadie Dressekie, Marketing Director of Arlie and Company.
There are some government-built buildings and single office buildings that have achieved LEED certification, but the Inkwell is the first multi-tenant office building.
Dressekie says the Arlie and Company space achieved Platinum due to the use of FSC-certified wood and cork flooring, among many other factors.
