Post Black Friday Sales Strong

EUGENE/SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Promotions and doorbusters for the big shopping days following Black Friday seem to have paid off for retailers.

Managers at the Valley River Center say customers were shoulder to shoulder and traffic around the area was a mess. Yet managers say it was also good indicators of the upcoming season.

Gateway Mall managers say two of their stores experienced their best Black Friday sales ever. They say retailers with the deepest discounts and strongest promotional campaigns had the most success.

Overall, both shopping centers believe this momentum will carry through to Christmas.
