Fans and Players Alike Pumped for Civil War for the Ages

By KEZI 9 News Staff

This year's contest between the Oregon Ducks and the Oregon State Beavers will be a Civil War for the Ages, as the winner of this game will go on to play in the Rose Bowl.

Both Duck and Beaver fans we spoke to are confident that their team has what it takes to win this major battle, and that as good as the opposing team has been lately, they're still not as good as the other.  Still, some fans on both sides of the Civil War are trying to underplay the significance of the December 3 game, in an effort not to "jinx it."

Oregon defeated Arizona in double overtime in the desert on Saturday night, 44-41.  Meanwhile, the Oregon State Beavers decimated the Washington State Huskies on the road, 42-10.  As a result of these two wins, the importance of this upcoming game become clear: whoever wins the 113th Civil War will play the Ohio State Buckeyes at this year's Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
