Groups Protest Bank Business Practices

By Dan Corcoran

EUGENE, Ore. -- A handful of local groups will rally at noon in Eugene to protest the business practices of Wells Fargo Bank

The Industrial Workers of the World, the Socialist Party of Oregon, the Black Tea Society, and the Eugene Springfield Solidarity Network/Jobs with Justice will rally Thursday against what they call "the Banksters, the bailout, and the control that global financial institutions have over both our democracy and our daily lives."

The groups will rally at Wells Fargo Bank on Oak and Broadway was held in conjunction with the November 21st WTO teach-in.

The groups claim that Wells Fargo's recent business decisions have directly harmed the local community  by foreclosing a number of homes in Lane County.
