EUGENE, Ore. -- With only one week until Thanksgiving, organizers of the Whiteaker Community Dinner are hard at work preparing to feed 3,000 people.
Organizer Beverly Farfan has a giant truck filled with 1,800 pounds of turkey in her yard. She's also collecting vegetables and bread for the dinner.
Each year, the Whiteaker Dinner gives out hundreds of blankets, sleeping bags and warm clothes, but they're still in need of more supplies. If you have something you'd like to donate to the Community Dinner, you can bring it to the Whiteaker Head Start next Wednesday while crews are setting up for Thanksgiving morning.
