Archaeological Dig Provides New Insights into Oregon's History

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Researches are excavating a pre-Mazama site at the Williams Creek campgrounds, located about an hour east of Roseburg.

The site could be as old as 8,000 years.  Researchers from the Umpqua National Forest and from the Oregon State Museum of History and Natural History are there to dig and see what they can learn about Oregon's anthropology.

Reporter Lindsey Doi spoke with some of the researchers and she brings us the details on KEZI 9 News this evening.
