Arrest Made in the Disappearance of a Coquille Woman

By Lindsey Doi

COQUILLE, Ore. -- An arrest has been made in the disappearance of a Coquille woman.

45-year-old Patrick Lee Horath, the brother-in-law of Jayme Austin, was arrested on a murder charge Thursday night.

Officials discovered Austin's body in a shallow grave site off of Middle Creek Road in rural Coos County.  Austin was reported missing on Monday after she did not show up to work.  Investigators say Horath was arrested shortly before the discovery.

Horath remains in the Coos County Jail without bail.  The District Attorney believes he acted alone, and plans to formally charge him with murder at a hearing on Monday.
