Local Schools Make List of Those Needing Improvement

SPRINGFIELD/JUNCTION CITY, Ore. --Some local school have earned a dubious ranking. Springfield High and Junction City High are among schools deemed "in need of improvement" on a new report card of Oregon schools.

Sixty-one Oregon schools all fall into the "needs improvement" category in the Oregon Departmenet of Education Report.

About 95% of Oregon schools received at least satisfactory rankings.

At Junction City High School, math posed the biggest problem for the 10th graders tested. At Springfield High School, reading scores need the biggest improvement.

117 schools were not rated due to their small size or being open for less than two years.
