By Sabina Rosu-Urdes

ALBANY, Ore. -- An Albany pharmacy was robbed at gunpoint, and police say the suspect is still on the loose.

Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Rite Aid Pharmacy located at 1235 SE Waverly Drive shortly after 7:00 p.m. on Monday night. A pharmacy employee told police that a female suspect approached the pharmacy counter, displayed a black semi-automatic handgun, and demanded the narcotic Oxycontin. The employee gave the suspect over $5,000 worth of the narcotic, then the female suspect took off from the store.

Evidence from video surveillance reveals the suspect as a female adult, approximately 5'8" in height, with a stocky build, and brown hair. She was wearing a dark colored stocking cap and a brown sweatshirt with the hood pulled up.

The Albany Police is asking anyone with information on this robbery to call their department at (541) 917-7680.
