Former Westfir City Recorder Arrested for Embezzlement

OAKRIDGE, Ore. -- Oakridge Police have arrested a former Westfir City Recorder for embezzling over $11,000.

 

Elizabeth Louise Murray, age 55, was arrested Sunday on charges of aggravated theft, official misconduct, theft, possession of a forged instrument, and forgery. Murray was the City Recorder for about 14 years and left the position in May 2009.

 

During an internal audit, irregularities were discovered in the general ledger. It was found over a period of one year, Murray embezzled a little over $11,000.00. The case has been forwarded to the Office of the Lane County District Attorney for prosecution.

don't people have a right to privacy before they're actually convicted ? what if they're innocent, and by releasing their name, you run the risk of ruining their life, and leaving yourself open for lawsuits. It's happened before, and it will again, if this keeps up !!
