Investigators are still trying to identify a man whose body was found in the Willamette River earlier this year.
The body was discovered on August 2 by fire department personnel training on the river. Autopsy results ruled out foul play and labeled the cause of death as a presumed drowning. The man also had methamphetamine in his blood.
The man had no identification on him, and his fingerprints weren't in the national database. Not only that, but he had no identifying markings on his body, such as tattoos or scars. No one in the homeless community knew who this individual was either.
The case is strikingly similar to a similar incident where a man was also found in the Willamette River. Though the man had identification, it didn't match up, and he was never identified.
If you know the identity of the man who was found in the Willamette this past August, you're asked to call the Crimestoppers line at 1-800-3-DETECT.
