VENETA, Ore. -- A Veneta man who was hit by a pickup on Tuesday has died from his injuries. Douglas Bretano of Veneta was struck on Clear Lake Road by a Nissan pickup driven by Georgios Karabinis of Eugene. Bretano was taken to RiverBend hospital where he died Wednesday afternoon.
The Lane County Sheriff's Office Collision Reconstruction Team is continuing to investigate the crash. The department does not believe alcohol was a factor in the collision.
