Sutherlin Family Upset with Tasing Investigation

By Lindsey Doi

SUTHERLIN, Ore. -- The family of a Sutherlin woman who was tased in Sutherlin last week is speaking out after the Sheriff's Office completed a review.

According to police, Officer Jay Huskey tased 36-year-old Erica Price after she failed to comply with the officer's commands and made an aggressive move toward him. A review by the Sheriff's Office on Tuesday claims Huskey's actions were justified.

Family members say Price was only trying to move into the living room and never acted aggressively. They are also frustrated that Officer Huskey is back at work so soon after the incident.

Price's family is asking that investigators look deeper into the case to see if Price was assaulted or drugged earlier in the day before the tasing.

Family's reaction to the decision

If the investigators really believe that anyone deserved what Erica Price got that day really scares me half to death. If they are that jumpy and ready to taser the first person that even looks at them wrong, there is a serious problem here.I would love to see that officer get the same dose of juice he gave her. That would make my day. She is out of ICU but she still is a little foggy of why she has no hair, why she can't walk, why she has three holes in her head where they had to put tubes in her brain to get the swelling down and take out blood clots. She may never come out of this completely. Time will tell. I hope it hits Huskey like a ton of bricks when he sees her the first time as to what he did to her. All 4'11" of her is real intimidating isn't it. The truth will never come out about this story and that is so wrong on so many levels. In the mean time my grandkids are without their mom and her granddaughter is with out her Nana. What really makes me angry is the fact that the guy that was walking her home supposedly had something to do with what happened to her in the first place. He gave her more alcohol knowing she was drunk and he is a bartender, nice guy. Of course he won't step up and admit what happened. I hope he gets what is coming to him too. Karma bites you in the butt every time. What goes around will come around.
