COOS COUNTY, Ore. -- H1N1 immunization clininics for students in the Powers School District will take place on Thursday, November 5th, according to Coos County Public Health, and on Friday, November 6th for students in the Myrtle Point School District.

In Powers, the clinics are scheduled between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. at the Elementary School and between 2:45 and 3:30 p.m. at Powers High School. In Myrtle Point, the clinics are scheduled between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. at Myrtle Point High School, and between 1 and 3 p.m. at Myrtle Crest Elementary.

To qualify for a free vaccine, students need to turn in a consent form signed by their parents to the school officials.  The vaccine will be given in the form of nose spray, as well as shots for those children who have asthma or other health problems that might prevent the use of spray.

Between October 5th and up to date, Coos County has received 4,400 doses of the vaccine, which were distributed between medical clinics, hospitals, and schools.
