Corvallis Man Dies in 99W Crash

By Brian Schiedel

CORVALLIS, Ore. -- An elderly Corvallis man died Saturday morning after a single vehicle traffic crash on Highway 99W about one mile north of Corvallis.

Oregon State Police say at approximately 6:00 am, 80-year-old Dale Schrock was northbound on 99W when he left the roadway and rolled over into a ditch.  Schrock was pronounced dead at the scene.  He was using safety restraints and his car's airbags deployed.

OSP troopers are continuing their investigation.  Officials are looking into the possibility that the man had a medical problem that may have caused him to drive off the highway.
