Mt. Bachelor Snow Storm Update

By Sabina Rosu-Urdes

MT. BACHELOR, Ore. -- Snow made its debut on Mount Bachelor on Monday, around 12:40 pm, and laid down no less than two inches of fresh powder that day. Six more inches of snow accumulated overnight and another four today. The Southeast faces of the mountain are currently covered in 12 inches of snow.

Snow has been accompanied by strong winds as well, causing significant drifting in certain areas. Cascade Lakes Highway closed Tuesday morning at Mt. Bachelor.

The next storm is expected to bring in an even higher snow level, up to 8,000 feet. The ski and snowboard resort is still expected to open on November 12.
