Riverfront Cleanup Complete

By Aaron Ofseyer

Eugene, Ore. -- The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality proposed the approval of a massive cleanup near the University of Oregon campus. The area bounded by the Willamette River and Franklin Avenue has sat vacant since 1990 due to high contamination levels, which the University has been cleaning up regularly ever since. Upon approval, the University will use the area of land to expand its riverfront research park.

The Oregon DEQ encourages the public to comment on the proposal or voice any concerns they might have until November 2nd. If you have a comment, contact Geoff Brown here.
