Crimestoppers: Scammers Use Old Way to Con

By Holly Menino

While the majority of scams we hear about these days seem to happen on the internet or over the phone, there are still some out there that scam their victims in person.

On September 17th, an elderly man at the Gateway Mall in Springfield walked away with hundreds of dollars after convincing a woman to trade it for gold. An accomplice allegedly helped the man in the scam. If you recognize the men pictured, in the story, call the Crimestoppers line at 1-800-3-DETECT. You could earn up to a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
