Meet Lamont and Isaisha

Lamont is an adorable six year old with an engaging personality! He is described as a happy child who sings to himself and dances when he thinks no one is looking! Lamont gets along well with other children. He loves school and other activities such as going to the park and playing basketball. Isaisha is a sweet three year old with an infectious smile!

Isaisha loves to play with dolls and ride her bike. She is very shy around new people and her foster mother reports she takes a long time to warm up to people she does not know. She needs some time to take things in and then she begins to interact.

Lamont has made tremendous strides within the last six months; the extreme fearfulness and frequent crying fits and head banging that were witnessed previously have decreased significantly, according to his foster mom. The calm, patient, nurturing of his foster family, his participation in individual counseling, and medication therapy have all contributed to helping to lessen his symptoms of past trauma.

Lamont has significant speech difficulties, a phonological disorder, and cognitive delays in the borderline range. Lamont receives special education services at school for speech and his learning issues. He also has weekly speech therapy through a pediatric developmental clinic. In addition, he wears hearing aids to address auditory deficits in both ears. Perhaps because the hearing aids help him to hear so very clearly, he loves them and is very proud of wearing them!

While their special needs can be challenging at times, Lamont and Isaisha will make a loving and joyful addition to any family. These children are eager to start their lives with a new safe and stable family.
