Seasonal Flu Vaccines Running Low

By Heather Hintze

Eugene, Ore. -- Clinics began distributing seasonal flu vaccine shots two months earlier than normal because of all the attention surrounding the swine flu virus.  But because so many people are lining up for shots, local clinics say they're due to run out of vaccines within two weeks.  Clinics are now limiting the vaccine to people who have a higher risk of catching the flu.

Oregon Medical Group usually receives their second shipment of vaccines in early October, but further production of seasonal flu vaccine has been put on hold while the H1N1 vaccine is being produced.
