Kristopher is a charming, energetic boy with a ready smile! He is outgoing and quick to engage in conversation or tell a story. Kristopher enjoys artwork, video games, and physical activity. He really loves jumping on the trampoline, camping, and watching television.
Kristopher has a great sense of humor and can find the humor in just about everything. He is generally happy and when he smiles his whole face lights up. Kristopher is very attractive, with with blond hair and big blue eyes and a toothy grin. He weighs about 80 pounds and is approximately 4 feet tall. He is very healthy.
Kristopher is intelligent and gets good grades in school. He is in the fourth grade and enjoys writing stories. He doesn't like math but still does well. His behavior at school has really improved and there are no issues.
Kristopher is going to therapy to deal with the loss of his family and the changes in his life, and he takes Wellbutrin for his depression and ADHD. There are no concerns that he will be able to attach to and trust a new family. He is very social and gets along well with adults and children of all ages, and is appropriate with animals. He tries really hard to please adults, and offers to do chores and asks for directions.
Kristopher was placed into foster care on July 6, 2006 due to the unsafe condition of the home, inadequate food, and inappropriate clothing. He was in one foster home until he was returned to his mother's care on December 21, 2006 on a trial home visit. He was then removed from the home again on February 23, 2007 after it was discovered that his mother was using methamphetamine. He was placed in a different foster home from then until November 2007, when he was moved because the foster home was not complying with DHS around meeting Kristopher's needs. He was then placed back in his original foster home, but he started getting anxious about having to return to his mother's care like he had last time he was in that foster home, and his behavior became unmanageable. It is also possible that his anxiety was due in part to his brother moving away. On March 1, 2008 he was placed in his current foster home where his behavior has improved and he is doing very well.
Kristopher has four half siblings, Kasey, Kali, Nicholas and Koby. Kali is in permanent foster care with her daughter in Coos County. Kasey lives with his father in Klamath Falls. Nicholas was adopted by a couple in New York and Koby lives in California with his father. Kristopher doesn't know his half siblings and he doesn't talk about his mom often. He misses his brother Kasey a lot and would really like to be able to have contact with him. They have always lived together until December 2007, when Kasey went to live with his father. He currently visits with his sister Kali and they are close. It would be very important for Kristopher to continue having contact with Kasey and Kali.
Kristopher needs a family who understands grief and loss and adoption issues and is open to ongoing counseling. His family needs to be open to ongoing contact with his brother and sister. He needs a family who is able to provide structure and consistency.
Kristopher is a wonderful, intelligent boy who needs a family who will appreciate him and love him unconditionally!
