Firework Safety: Remember the Three "B's"

By Heather Hintze
July 1, 2009

EUGENE, Ore.--  Before lighting the fuses this weekend, fire marshals say to remember the three B's:  Be safe, be prepared and be responsible.

They say to make sure you have a bucket of water, hose or fire extinguisher on hand just in case one of your fireworks gets out of hand.

If a firework turns out to be a dud, fire marshals say don't try to re-light it.  Wait 15-20 minutes, then soak it in a bucket of water.
