By Brandi Smith
June 17, 2009

EUGENE, Ore. -- The economy is sending more children into foster care. In fact, there are more than 1,000 in the Lane County system. But there's a way you can help those kids, while getting in a little mid-week workout. Thursday evening is the first-ever Run Eugene Run event to raise money for Junior League programs that benefit foster kids and foster families.

Registration for the 5K Run/Walk begins at 4:30 p.m. in Alton Baker Park. The race itself starts at 6:30 p.m.
