

The trial date for an Oregon man with suspected ties to an alleged terrorist organization has been moved. Monday's hearing in a federal courtroom in Eugene also set in motion the exchange of discovery evidence and each side expects to have discovery complete this week.
Pirouz Sedaghaty, also known as Pete Seda, will now face judge and jury in October. His defense made the request without opposition from federal prosecutors. The previous trial start date was April 16. The government is now set to begin trying Seda October 8 before federal judge Michael Hogan. A federal grand jury charged Seda, once and Ashland resident, with conspiracy to defraud the United States and filing a false tax return on behalf of a terrorist organization, the Al-Haramain, an Islamic foundation which Seda co-founded
