French Toast

 
Makes 2 loaves
 
Ingredients:
 
2 cups warm water
 
1/4 cup yeast
 
1 1/2 Tbsp sugar
 
2 1/2 cups flour
 
1/2 cup dry milk powder
 
1/4 cup sugar
 
2 1/2 tsp. salt
 
4 eggs
 
12 oz. butter
 
1/2 whole milk
 
Mix together the warm water, yeast and 1 ½ Tbsp. sugar and let rest until the mixture blooms.
 
In a separate bowl mix flour with dry milk powder.
 
Add ¼ cup of  sugar and salt, mix together and add this mixture to the yeast mixture.
 
Mix at lowest speed until everything is blended together.
 
Add eggs while still at lowest speed.
 
Then add butter, 1/2 cup of whole milk, and enough flour to form a soft dough.
 
Place the dough in a greased bowl and let rise at room temperature until dough is double in size.
 
Divide the dough in half, knead the dough and form each into a loaf shape.
 
Place dough into two grease bread pans and let rise until doubled in size.
 
Bake about 40 min  at 325 F ( convection oven ), or 50 min. at 350 F ( conventional oven).
 
Place on cooling racks
