SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- The birth of a healthy baby is the dream any parent. That's why the murder of a seemingly healthy infant in Springfield has stuck with investigators since it happened in 1992. The newborn baby girl never had a chance; the medical examiner ruled the death a homicide after the autopsy revealed cause of death was asphyxiation. The baby also had a fractured skull that possibly happened after her death.
