VENETA, Ore. -- A Eugene man who is trying to give away his Veneta investment home is reacting to the Oregon Attorney General's Office suggesting the giveaway is illegal because it's a lottery. But George Tran says he checked with his lawyers before posting the idea online. He says the giveaway is a contest because participants have to pay a $20 registration and write a story about why they should win the home. The public will vote to select a winner.

George Tran and his House Contest
In todays economy and with all of the troubles we as a country face it is a shame that George is faced with opposition in his quest to give his home away. I commend him and think that this contest is a fantastic idea and I wish him the best of luck! P.S. How do I register? This man and his revolutionary idea may be the only way me and my children will ever own our own home or maybe some other family who is working and fighting to just stay afloat in these unforgiving times. Bless you George and bless your family! Mayciew.
