LYONS, Ore. -- A Linn County father is accused of injuring his 3-month-old twin girls. One of them is seriously injured.
Based on evidence and interviews with the suspect, Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says 22-year-old Corey Repucci assaulted his 3-month-old twin daughters on multiple occasions at his home in Lyons.
Deputies arrested Corey Repucci Friday afternoon on four felony counts. He was released from Linn County Jail after posting bail, but didn't answer the door when KEZI 9 News knocked.
"That's just terrible how anybody can do that to a little daughter or kid," said Neighbor and Friend Rob Thompson.
That's how neighbors reacted when learning about the accusations against Repucci.
Doctors called detectives when the twins came in because one had breathing problems. Investigators say an exam revealed one of the infants suffered multiple sub-dermal hematomas, or brain bleeding, broken ribs, a broken leg and a broken arm.
It didn't stop there. Investigators say her twin also had broken ribs and a broken leg. Injuries that Sheriff Mueller said would take a good deal of force to inflict.
"It's a travesty in that their lives will never be normal, and he took that away," said Neighbor Julie Woelfle.
Mueller says he doesn't suspect the girls' mother of hurting them, but some neighbors can't picture either of the twins' parents doing that to their babies.
"I don't see it in him what-so-ever, and I've never seen any kids over there and he's not the type of kid that would hurt any child that I know of," Thompson said.
"He is a really nice kid, and seems to be a very nice person but that doesn't mean that he's not capable of doing that," Woelfle said.
Both children were taken into custody by Oregon Department of Human Services.
