SALEM, Ore. -- Cyclists from all over hit the streets Saturday and Sunday for Cycle Oregon.
Cyclists made there way through a soggy 30, 40, or 70 mile loop, starting in Salem.
About 1,700 riders and their families from across the country camped out at Willamette University in Salem for the weekend event.
"I live in Indianapolis, Indiana. We have a major program right now to copy Portland. Portland is the mothership in terms of bicycling, both in the recreational and in the commercial transaction," said Steve Devoe, rider In Cycle Oregon.
Cycle Oregon also hosts a week-long ride that starts September 10.
It starts in Sutherlin, and goes to the coast and back. The ride is about 500 miles long and is already sold out with about 2,200 riders signed up.
