EUGENE, Ore. -- Close to 800 people showed up to a meeting in Eugene on immigration reform Thursday night. The immigrant rights coalition, "Causa Oregon" is calling on local leaders to help them make changes to Oregon's laws.
They want to restore immigrant access to Oregon state driver's licenses. Also, create a policy to allow all students who have graduated from high school, or received their GED in Oregon, in-state tuition regardless of their status.
"I'm really sorry that I am here illegally. But I can't help it. My mom wanted her daughter to have a better future," said Jessica Garcia.
Supporters hope to have both bills in the legislature and have all the signatures they need by as early as next week.

what are you thinking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you know they are going to drive so i see let them drive illegal and have no insurance so if you are in a accident you get nothing at all ah i see this is real smart !!!!!!!!!!!!!! think before you speak i am not talking about their papers ! i am talking about your protection not your prejudice agent them!this does not make them legal but us safer on the road !!!!!!!!!!!!! its safer for all to have a license and insurance !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they have to pay just like anyone else! if not you will pay its not for their rights its for ours! look at this in a deeper way we need protection on the roadway because with out them having a license you get no insurance coverage when or if you have a accident and accidents happen !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO - to organizations that parrot John Tanton's population control propaganda, duping right wingers into joining him in otherwise unseemly eugenic endeavors... FAIR, Numbers USA, etc.
NO - to tea sipping, flag waivers who block immigration reform because they like employing illegals. Withholding taxes but not reporting them, then laughing all the way to the bank at them because, well who are they going to tell? They're illegal! And what is tax evasion?
NO - to people who can't spell amnesty, and probably don't know the real concept. May Jesus Christ grant you amnesty for ignoring hid commandment, not a suggestion... Nor request. A commandment.

Illegals do not deserve nor should they receive a drivers license or permit. Also the illegal population within this nation has caused a huge drain on the economies of every state in the union. Tougher immigration laws, ramped up deportations, elimination of so called anchor babies, and streamlined judicial immigration sytems are all needed. We need to stop the free medical and social services that illegals are receiving along with the removial of all illegals from our school systems including colleges. NO tuition aid to undocumented students. The REAL AMERICAN public voiced their feelings and the result was NO DREAM ACT. We also want a secured border and if it takes troops to do it then so be it. Its time illegals were removed from the workforce and ICE along with Local Law Enforcement Officers who are certified in 287G are going to continue and increase the pressures on illegals in every state. Ice is now looking into college enrollments and prosecuting illegals found there as well. This is going to continue and increase. The American publice has said NO to AMNISTY. America does not grant AMNISTY to criminals and thats what illegals are. They broke the law in coming here, they break the law in using IDs that are fake, they lie about status in attempts to gain false ID. While expensive to deport illegals, the saving to every state is worth it. If illegals don't see now the move to increase the prosecution of illegals all they need to do is read the papers and see the 40 plus states enacting new laws to remove illegals from within their bounderies.
