National Night Out Kicks Off

EUGENE, Ore.-- In an effort to cut down on crime and keep communities safe neighborhoods across the country on Tuesday will kick off National Night Out. Many local law enforcement agencies will also join in to promote crime prevention techniques.

 

 

Tuesday evening, Eugene Police and city staff may be in your neighborhood to speak with area neighborhood associations about National Night Out.  The purpose of this event is to provide support for neighborhoods, that participate in the nation-wide crime prevention awareness program.

 

 

Police will give residents information on prevention programs and neighborhood safety tips. This annual event is designed to strengthen communities and encourage neighbors to build strong relationships with one another, as well as, local police.

 

 

Police officers will caravan to seven neighborhoods throughout Eugene at 6 p.m. To see if your neighorbood is one of those, click here.
