More Color Coming To Downtown Eugene

By KEZI News Staff

EUGENE, Ore.-- Downtown Eugene is getting another splash of color this afternoon. The Eugene storefront art project will be installing two more art displays in vacant storefronts Tuesday.

They say they're on a mission to help revive an ailing downtown area through the use of art in vacant storefront windows, as well as, working with business owners wanting to add more interest for their occupied properties.

Works by six different artists will be going into empty storefronts Tuesday at 960 and 980 Oak Street. 960 Oak will actually soon be the home of Ballet Fantastique, but they will host the art in the meantime.

Founding members say they want people walking around downtown to feel like there is something positive happening -- to look at art instead of worrying about another business disappearing.
