EUGENE, Ore. -- So how's your New Year's resolution coming along? For one Eugene artist, she'd say it's going well.
Stephanie Barrow hopes to paint 200 paintings in 2010. She's selling them online for the Committed Partners for Youth/Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Lane County. The organization helps at-risk youth face difficult issues through mentoring.
Barrow has been a mentor for four years, but she says it's the organization that's helped her.
"Most of us start out mentoring, thinking that we're going to do something for someone else, but the process has just overwhelmingly wonderful for myself. I love the CPY family, the people there that support me, and I've had wonderful kids that I've mentored," she said.
Barrow's goal is to raise $3,000 by the end of the year. She's already painted 67 and has almost sold all of them except three.
