EUGENE, Ore. -- The 9-1-1 call from a Eugene parking enforcement officer at the start of the controversial Ben Bond parking meter case has been released.
That tape is providing new insight about the contact the pair had on January 13th.
This comes a day after a judge acquitted Bond on an obstruction of government charge.
A municipal court judge said the prosecution failed to show that Ben Bond threatened to commit a crime against that parking enforcement officer, paving the way for an acquittal.
The city does not have option to appeal the finding.

Wow. It seems Eugene really
Wow. It seems Eugene really got caught with its pants down on this case. I followed this one pretty closely, and every time new information came to light, it appeared as if stubborn Eugene wouldn't let a non-case go away, and lies were piled on top of lies. The woman did not sound scared in the 911 tape. She sounded annoyed. And why even mention she is a city employee? Is she due more rapid police response than any other citizen by virtue of being a city employee? The DA office should have let this case go from day one, instead of wasting taxpayer dollars on this feeble attempt to validate the actions of EPD.
