Medford, Ore. -- The Medford City Council passed a utility rate increase at Thursday’s meeting.
The hike will increase monthly street, sewer and storm drain fees for Medford residents effective April 1, 2010. The increase on the average single-family home is expected to be about $1.16 per month the first year, 36-cents per month the second year, and 39-cents per month the third year.
City officials say more funds are needed to address growing infrastructure demands over the next 50 years. The total revenue generated from the 3-year plan is expected to be about $1,616,000.
