EUGENE, Ore.--It's opening day of the 31st Annual Home and Garden Show at the Lane County Fairgrounds. KEZI 9 News went behind the scenes to see what it takes to prepare for the show.
For some vendors they start preparing months in advance and during the week of the home and garden show they put in long hours.
Before you see the final product of greenery and lush gardens. There's a lot of hard work that goes into creating each exhibit and booth.
The owners of Cutting Edge Landscape and Design, got their inspiration from the children's book, "Where The Wild Things Are." They'll use 15 tons of boulders and nearly 1,000 flowers to replicate a fantasy world.
Co-owner of Cutting Edge Landscape & Design, Nick Williams said, "Right now it's pretty much just loose ends. You know, trying to start concealing some stuff that we don't want people to see. As you can see, we haven't done flowers or anything yet. So that's the big piece that we're waiting to kind of the last minute to do. So they can stay fresh."
Some vendors have been working long hours since Monday. They said a lot goes into their show designs because many people like to apply similar ideas to their own homes or gardens.
The Home and Garden Show starts Thursday and runs until Sunday at 5 p.m.
