Trying to Score Civil War Tickets? Might Pay Hundreds

By Gia Vang

EUGENE/SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Civil war ticket prices are topping out in the hundreds Sunday, now that the big game is days away.  But residents feel differently about how much they'd be willing to fork out for a seat at Autzen Stadium.

Websites such as Craigslist are showing folks are asking for as much as $350 for a ticket.

University of Oregon Assistance Atheletic Director Garrett Klassy said face value tickets were $70.

Some fans said they would never buy from secondary sources, while others said they know what's on the line and would pay almost anything to see the game from Autzen.

"Since it's anybody's game, I might get crazy and put out $250 or $300 for a ticket," Duck fan Richard Sturm said.

Beaver fan Catherine Jeffrey said she'd pay up to $160.

"But that's about it.  There's no way I'd go more," she said.

Other football fans like Kal Szekely said flat out, they'd pay nothing because you should try to scalp tickets in the first place.

"I just think it makes it too commercial, too monetary, and if it's a school spirit thing and you bought the tickets, you should use it," Szekely said.

Whatever your cap, ticket office managers said they still expect record-breaking attendance at Autzen Stadium for the Thursday night game.
