EUGENE, Ore. -- Churchill High School got a little bit of help removing some unwanted chemicals Friday through a chemical clean-up project called Rehab the Lab.

Lane County Public Works Waste Management, Oregon DEQ and Springfield Utility Board (SUB) pitched in to get rid of more than 200 unused chemicals inside the school's science lab.

Public Works staff say Churchill is the 20th school they've removed old chemicals from in Lane County.

Lane County School Districts will save $19,000 in disposal costs. DEQ and SUB paid for the chemical removal with grants.
